However this year Malta will have to compete in a preliminary phase after the disastrous result obtained last year in Latvia.

The weekday bulletin to be broadcast from a studio in Dublin city centre will launch in late spring. Sky has yet to decide a time slot but Irish papers have speculated that the company has shelved plans to go head-tohead with state broadcaster RTE’s Nine O’Clock News programme which attracts sizeable audiences. Its highestrating bulletin last year pulled in 830000 viewers ranking it the fourthmost popular programme after the Eurovision. The game is easy — the user receives the question and four possible answers via SMS. All one has to is to choose the correct answer via SMS. go mobile subscribers who wish to participate can start receiving questions and play the go Quest quiz by sending a blank SMS to 50705070 as from Friday 13 February.
