The United Kingdom and Maltese Eurovision Song Contest entrants will perform at a free outdoor concert staged in the grounds of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London. The Maltese entry sung by Julie and Ludwig is called On Again. Off Again and carries a subtle message about the United Kingdom’s tortuous relationship with Europe.

Harte who stayed at Number One for five weeks with the winning single ‘We’ve Got The World’ said: “I owe a lot to all the people who worked so hard for me at Sony Music. “I felt that the time was right to take hold of the reins and face the music on my own two feet” he added. ‘We’ve Got The World’ was the biggest selling single of 2003 and Harte also hit Number One with his debut album ‘Sometimes Right Sometimes Wrong’. Harte’s new album is due at the end of the summer and he will release a new single ‘A New Way To Fly’ on 14 May.

James Fox the UK?s representative for the Eurovision Song Contest attended a House of Commons reception. James is from Bargoed and the reception was organised by his MP Wayne David. Parliamentarians from across the UK gave him a good send off for the competition which takes place in Istanbul on the 15th May. On Monday I attended a top level meeting to discuss the priorities for international development. This was arranged to give parliamentarians and others an opportunity to discuss plans ahead of the World Bank and IMF Spring Meetings.
