King leads the singing on Victoria’s birthdayThe Local
Olsson and Holm said what fun it was to share the prize, and then promptly gave the lot to Victoria’s own fund for disabled children. The celebrations concluded as usual with an early-evening televised birthday concert at the Borgholm sports ground. Helena Paparizou, the Swede who won this year’s Eurovision Song Contest for Greece, and Martin Stenmarck, the Swede who didn’t win this year’s Eurovision Song Contest for Sweden, provided the music with a bunch of other homegrown songsters, while Joe Labero performed a few magic tricks.

Ukrainian vodka shots were on offer at the lunchtime event where Gaultier displayed his 39 outfits, some in warm furs and covered with embroidered flowers reminiscent of traditional regional headscarves. The French designer visited the two countries earlier this year, taking in the Eurovision song contest in Kiev in May and touring museums in St. “There were some beautiful things. I saw the Bolshoi [Theater] and some beautiful Ukrainian clothes,” Gaultier told reporters after the show. He described the look in his collection as “at the same time, romantic, happy and relaxed.

Harry Potter and the Deathly
Like they missed me! This means people come for the DJ not only for the club, music and crowd. As a hobby I always liked to meet other DJs & singers both local and foreign, it’s a must to keep in contact with people not only the clubbers but also other colleagues in the job. I’ve also interviewed Jovanotti, Spagna, Baby D, Prezioso, Magic Box, Gigi D’Agostino, Motorcycle, all of the Eurovision singers. I was interviewed by MTV2 UK for a programme about Maltese clubs. Brilliant experience!

Thursday 14/07/05 Garbage, Snoop Dogg, The Chemical Brothers @…Gigwise
After some Eurovision-esque set pieces from the TV comperes, Garbage get us down to business, and promptly clear away any remaining doubts about their ability to knock a crowd back on its heels, even after ten years in the game, and amid continuing rumours of their imminent demise. Opening with a blistering ‘Paranoid’, Shirley struts and pouts and generally gives good dominatrix, with that Courtney-Love-meets-Rab-C-Nesbitt foghorn of a voice in finer fettle than ever. ‘Stupid Girl’ and ‘Only Happy When It Rains’ sound a good deal fresher than their ten years of age would imply, while Shirley’s writhing antics during latest single ‘Sex Is Not The Enemy’ gets pulses racing as well as feet moving. Recent single ‘Why Do You Love Me?’ is, we assume, rhetorical and leaves most of us hoping that the split rumours come to naught.

Adam Blunt from NOP World Business won Best Paper for a talk on bulletin board groups and BPRI?s Anna McAvoy won for Best Presented Paper. As last year, the Montague-on-the-Gardens hotel provided a novel setting for the get-together, nestling flower trellises and tall trees amongst the backs of houses, with a patio and barbecue format catering for a capacity crowd of nearly 60 researchers. Although the conference?s web site describes the awards as ?never an easy decision?, the conference committee has recently followed the Eurovision Song Contest in abandoning a panel of judges in favour of vox pop. Blunt?s paper received the highest overall mark from conference attendees who rate each paper they see, while McAvoy?s was a clear winner in the separate marking for presentation style. So in fact it must have been quite easy, unless of course the adding up was done by a quallie? No doubt the important point is that the quality of papers at this year?s Conference was exceptionally high so the winners are the cream of a good crop. Both winners were speaking at the conference for the first time. Blunt used case studies to illustrate the use of web-based bulletin boards for B2B research, with ?groups? conducted over several days and a moderator setting daily discussion topics to which respondents submit responses and debate issues.
