In order to make up for the big disappointment amongst the Dutch fans OGAE Netherlands and our partnersite 12points. tv are putting their hands together to organise a Eurovision party on December 20th. More than 25 former Dutch Eurovision representatives were about to make their appearance at the ‘Songfestival The Winners’ show. Due to low tickets sales and the withdrawal of the main sponsor the organisers had to cancel the event. The new date in April will be announced soon. The alternative party will take place in Den Bosch on December 20 as well. Location: De Azijnfabriek – Bethaniestraat 4 Den Bosch.

com News. As widely reported yesterday Maria Haukaas Storeng who took Norway to fifth place at the 2008 competition will perform a duet with Anna Sahlene. The Scotts who were announced as participants three weeks ago were also unveiled at the press conference today. The six acts confirmed for Melodifestivalen today are:Susanne Alfvengren – Du är älskad där du gårThe Scotts – Jag tror på oss Anna Sahlene and Maria Haukass Storeng – Killing me tenderlyThorleifs – Sweet kissin' in the moonlightNina Söderquist – Tick TockCookies 'n Beans – What IfSusanne Alfvengren is 49 years old and has had one hit in Sweden in 1984 with a song called När vi rör varann. She has released seven albums in Sweden and another is expected in 2009.

Krasimir Avramov entry for Eurovision revealed

The video is produced by Michail Mendkedjiev who is behind the popular TV show Forbidden Love. San Marino not quitting Eurovision!

com News. com predict that there will be 43 countries competiting to win the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow. Despite claims that San Marino will withdraw esctoday. com firmly believes that the tiny country will participate at the competition to be held in the largest country in the world. Monaco Austria Luxembourg and Italy are set to sit out the competition again.

EBU confirms 50/50 vote for Eurovision Song Contest

com News. Televoting will be used to find the other 50% of the votes. The exact details of jury composition will be decided at the reference group meeting this week. The need to bring back a jury vote as a means of putting an end to what has become seen as obvious political or diaspora voting has been clear for some time. The perception of biased voting has led to a decline in reputation of the Eurovision Song Contest in Western Europe as a fair music competition and led Sir Terry Wogan to resign as the UK commentator after almost four decades of coverage.

com Maria and Sahlene set for Melodifestivalen Maria Haukaas Storeng to Eurovision again? A day before Swedish broadcaster SVT releases the next batch of confirmed artists for their 2009 Eurovision Song Contest national selection competition Melodifestivalen and a big surprise entrant seems to have been revealed in the Swedish media. Maria Haukaas Storeng who stormed to victory in this year's Norwegian show and took 5th place at the Eurovision Song Contest looks set to enter the competition. She is rumoured to be entering a duet entry with Anna Sahlene the former Estonian Eurovision Song Contest representative and two-time Melodifestivalen participant. Due to her commitments as co-host of Melodi Grand Prix 2009 and reigning competition winner she would not be free to perform in Melodifestivalen until the fourth and final semi final on February 28th leaving some doubt as to whether the rumours can be confirmed.
