Latvia Eurovision withdrawal accepted Netherlands 
com EBU EBU agrees to no penalty Latvia Eurovision withdrawal accepted Latvian broadcaster LTV has confirmed to esctoday. com that they have withdrawn from the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow. The broadcaster will not face any penalty for the withdrawal and are already working to return to the competition in 2010. In an email to esctoday. com LTV confirms "The reason for withdrawal is that our government decided to cut down LTV's budget for 24 million Lats (35 million EUR) and LTV's board decided to close several entertainment programmes including the Eurovision Song Contest 2009.

Today NRK has revealed that they will perform their song themselves. Velvet is not the solo artist already lined up to perform in Sweden's Melodifestivalen but a group comprising Thea Bay Charlotte &slash;verland Våset Cornelia Børnick and Annette Amelia Larsen. Charlotte performed on stage in Jerusalem at the 1999 Eurovision Song contest with Stig Van Eijk and Thea was one of the spacegirls performing with Jannicke Abrahamsen in the 2006 Melodi Grand Prix taking second place.
