Israel: Legal dispute puts Ska’at out of Eurovision bid

Earlier this week it seemed that IBA was close to reaching an agreement which would have allowed Ska'at to be sent to Moscow a compromise between the singer and his former record company. Despite that the negotiations between the singer's manager and the record label have now ended in a complete failure. As a result the record company's legal advisors have sent the IBA a formal complaint stressing out that appointing Ska'at as Israel's entrant to the Eurovision Song Contest will be a breach of the court's temporary order that prohibits the singer from recording any materials what so ever. Since a solution to this dispute is now unlikely to be achieved soon it seems that Har'el Ska'at is out of the race for Moscow. IBA's board has decided recently to hold a televised national final in which the chosen artist will present 4 songs for the public and jury's selection. That leaves the IBA with litlle time for more deliberations on possible artists to chose from. A new name thrown into the race now is of Marina Maximillian Blumin Boaz Mauda's runner up in the Israeli Pop Idol 5.
